COLORFUL FANTASY - HARDCORE SHOOTER

What if DOOM was a little more like Kirby and Kirby was a little more like DOOM? That's the question we've set out to answer with Cheonsa, a Korean-themed first person shooter loaded with insane weapons, awesome powerups, and a whole lot of really cute exploding worms.

WHAT IS CHEONSA?

Cheonsa (pronounced Chun-sa) is designed after the pattern of old school first person shooters like DOOM, Star Wars: Dark Forces, and Blake Stone, but it's presented in a distincly modern style. In its art and aesthetics Cheonsa draws largely from inspirations such as Mario, Kirby, The Legend of Zelda, Pixar animated films, and the Korean culture from which it draws its namesake.

Our main goal was to fuse the frantic action of an FPS with the open-world exploration and loot gathering of a traditional platformer or fantasy adventure. In doing this it seemed fitting to combine the gameplay elements of old school shooters with the stylings of fantasy themed art.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Everything you see in Cheonsa - the art, 3D models, code, music, sound, etc. - is all the work of sole-developer Daniel Hall. He also only gets to work part-time making games, so time can be scarce during the week. Still, he spends what he can working on developing new content for the game and hopes that this might be the project that allows him to finally become a full-time game developer.

Tim Meyers helps by managing Jenito's social media accounts and monitoring e-mail. He also lends a hand in managing community pages and Jenito's game pages on sites like Steam. Together they are the entire Jenito team, and both work other jobs in addition to making games.
